Resources

Here, you’ll find some of the annual resources we share with our members, including fellowships, residencies, and other annual opportunities—designed to help you publish, grow in your craft, and build a wider writing community!

Write Hive Con

  • Write Hive is a nonprofit organization that seeks to support diverse voices in writing. Every year, they have a virtual and 100% free conference.

Pitch Contests

Pitch contests are an opportunity for writers to find agents who are interested in their work as well as for acquiring editors who are interested in working with a particular writer.

  • PitBLK- for Black and African diasporic writers.
  • SmoochPit– perfect for writers of romance.
  • LatinxPit– for Latine writers writing Latine stories, mainly in kidlit.
  • PitchDis– this is for disabled writers.
  • PitDark– if you write darker themes, this is the competition for you!
  • DV Pit is a pitch contest for authors from diverse voices. This includes BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled. Once hosted on Twitter/X, it is now hosted on Discord.

Short Story September

  • In the month of September, there is a great opportunity for those who want to grow in the craft of short stories that leave an impact.
