The Writers’ Circle is here for you. And we want to be as transparent as possible. Therefore here are some things we want you to know about us. Have questions? Don’t be afraid to ask. You can leave a comment down below, shoot us an email or DM us on social media, whatever method you prefer. Please remember that we are a safe space. For the sake of time, this is a relatively brief post, but more is to come!

Who we are:
We are a Circle for women of color who write, read and create. And while we welcome allies to read our blog, follow us, and support in other ways, they cannot be members of the Circle.
How we offer support:
Through community discussion, resources, the sharing of feedback, help with accountability and much more.
What we currently do:
- Have write-ins virtually to spark creativity.
- Check in not only for writing accountability but for mental health as well.
- Have open book and movie discussions as well as active discourse on the publishing industry and writing community as a whole.
- Share knowledge. Many in the community have self-published, indie-published and some are traditionally published. The members don’t mind sharing the do’s and don’ts of the industry with each other.
- Publicize and promotes written by the members of our Circle via social media and our Bookshop.
What we are hoping to do in the future:
- Publish a literary journal featuring women of color.
- Offer a virtual weekend conference with guests from various aspects of the publishing industry (agents, illustrators, editors, publicists) as well as authors.
- Reach more women and provide more resources including lists of agents that are looking for manuscripts written by women of color.
- Provide ISBNs to members who wish to self-publish but cannot afford them.
- Create a pitch event specifically for women of color.
- Host in-person weekly writing retreats so that women can focus on their craft and take a break from the daily stressors of life while having all their needs met including lodging, food and transportation.
How you can show support:
- Spreading the word. There quite a lot of women of color with stories to tell, after all.
- By giving financially via our store.
- By subscribing to our newsletter and keeping in touch.
- If you’re a women of color, connect with us. How? Contact us and join our Discord community.
